They give free tickets to family members to things like the Grizzlies, all Memphis Tigers sports, bowl games, etc. That way the parents don't feel like they are always stuck in a hospital and try to make their stay as "normal" to home as possible. I think they stayed some in the Ronald McDonald house and the Grizzly house. It is an incredible place.

No more Salvation Army packages. Nowadays the state ,ala yours and my tax money pays for their treat bags. Nice,isn't it?

I found out how wonderful St Jude was years before that with a young lad in the community. He has one less leg, but has a wonderful life thanks to St Jude. He works, has a son, and a new baby due anytime now. Thank God for St Jude and the people that keep giving.

If you want to help out locally, try to find which church in your area has an active benevolence committee. They discreetly screen and help those who are truly in need, physically and spiritually. 100% of the money you give there will go for what you intend it for, or at least it does at our church. We average helping over 100 kids at Christmas with gifts of toys, coats, and clothes (a local service organization provides new shoes). Their families also receive food baskets. These kids are nominated by their teachers at school. We find that these teachers usually know more about a child's needs than anyone else!
