I have a niece turning 9 years old next week. All she has requested is a 'nice' pair of earrings. Knowing what I could get her that would be a good mix of inexpensive yet 'grown up' at the same time (i.e. if/when she loses them it won't be a major loss) I went to Kmart to look at their diamond studs. I've seen these things hundred of times. They're cheap diamonds. Small. Basic. Perfectly acceptable size and price range for a 9 year old's jewelry.

So normally these earrings retail for about $100. Of course K-mart always has that "70% off fine jewelry" sale that never ends, making them about $30. Today their list price was $699. W.T.F. Seriously. How many people are going to fall for that. Jacked up the prices for the 'big sale'

Add to that, the crowds are already out full force. It was bumper to bumper trying to get through Norton. Crazy co-workers have the online walmart maps out, plotting strategy. HAH good luck with that, fools.
