CtDawg, hadn't heard that one about Norton building a separate school on this site. I did hear that JH has not had a good day. Really bothers me.

I would propsose turning one of the two schools into a magnet school. If this is really what we are going to do we have to make the most of our possible educational opportunities.

That would be an excellent idea, but given our two boards' political points of view, it would never pass. Again, too many are against any healing at all for this to happen.

Amen. I think a magnet school would be a great idea and would give the advanced education opportunity to those who want it. In order to help pay for the extra cost, it could be made semi-private with small tuition per semester and for those who are unable to pay--scholarships from donors...which trust me, if there were a magnet school available, there are people who would donate dollars to help fund a private education.

Those who want the normal school experience or need more intensive education in certain subjects, that allows the other school(s) to take care of it. I think it'd be a more viable idea if we end up with 3 schools and not 2.

At the end of the day though--if it hasn't been proposed yet, I don't think it would be a part of the plan at all.
