The rich have no problem preying on the poor, so I see no problem with the poor leeching off the rich...if that answers your question.

I am not by any means pro bailout. However the market is necessitating action and everyone is suffering because of it.

The Dow lost almost 800 points yesterday. What does Congress tell a person who has saved their entire life and invested the right way and all of a suddden a 1/3 of their retirement account is gone because of partisan bullshit?

Nobody was griping when the government bailed Chrysler out in the 80's and saved thousands of jobs and really saved the Chrysler corporation all together. It was the same story, mis-management, greed, coruption, however their was a need that went beyond just a select few people. It had an affect on thousands of American people.

    This is nothing new...

RR bailed out his son's biz, the savings and loan. Setting this all up. "Daddy is gonna save us." Just dig a little deeper, "trickle down" you folks that think RR was good, looks like you are going to get to see how he fixes an economy. Wait till the rich decide to spend. I'm all for picking out a class and taking what we neeed. Perhaps NOW some people will understand why some thought all along giving away any regulation to protect people was bad. Too bad we told all those unskilled workers that thier jobs were going out of the country. Poor working man goes broke it is change or progress, dude in the loan office goes broke it becomes a national matter. Good thing this didn't happen while Bush was in office....oh well, at least we know who will be the worst American president. Doesn't look like the country will last to make him a lame duck. There went the swing vote. Perhaps not....some won't be able to buy gas to get to the polls.

Chrysler made a product, the workers gave up about 30% of what they were getting, and the loan was paid off early. That was what stopped the bailout yesterday, someone wanted to set regs to make sure there was some control over the payback. And the crack about the retirement? Welcome to the world of the folks who have paid into SS for 30 years, only to have some fool try to move it into 401ks. Why worry about this when you don't worry about SS? Cause you haven't paid into it much? If you can get LI to go thru our government cutting like he did at Chrysler, I'd votr for a bailot...but you can't and they will still be robbing us.

    Re: Hmmmmm

To hell with the Dow...to quote Jim Morrison : "I'm waiting for the whole shithouse to go up in flames". When folks invest, they know there's a risk. When you invest at a time homes are losing value, and a time when a President is basically printing money to secure a few voters and fight 2 wars (1 unneeded) which in turn drops the value of the currency, and at a time when most folks can't even afford to make ends meet...there's a good chance you'll lose out on your investment. Folks took gambles, banks took gambles...they lost. Let em fail. This is reality...everyone doesn't get a trophy.

    Re: Hmmmmm

That's a fine perspective if you want to live on $500 a month and depend on the food bank after you have poored 30 years of blood and sweat into an occupation.

That's the beauty of America. You don't have to invest if you don't want to. However, don't whine when you are 70 years old can't live off the golden retirement plan SSI.

    Re: Hmmmmm

You will get no debate from me about regulation.

In fact Republicans wanted to put a foot down on Sallie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2004.

It was revealed that they were giving adjustable rate, sub-prime mortgages to low income people without a down payment. Everyone isn't supposed to have a home. It would be nice to live in a Euphoric country where you didn't have to pay for your home, but its sadly not reality.

    Re: Hmmmmm

I work every day and after everything is taken out (bills, gas, etc) I have less than that to live on. And I don't expect to have SSI by the time I retire...so I guess it's all a matter of perspective.
