    State of the Union...

on tonight at 9. Most will of course be on the economy, the rest I've heard will range from healthcare, asking Congress to repeal "Don't ask, don't tell", his popularity and other smaller issues. Guessing it'll be the standard speech for these, but curious to see what he says.

McDonnell giving the GOP response in VA right now, funny since it's still run by dems basically.

The response is from someone in the opposite part. You know that right?

I know the response is from the opposition, but why McDonnell in VA? He wasn't really an upset here, it was just the gov. spot that has no effect on the national scene, just find it odd that it was the new gov. of VA. Really not the fact that it was IN VA, but it was from HIM, I figured it'd be in DC which is why I was surprised about the location part.

Watched part of Obama's the speech, thought it was pretty good.

Turned off McDonnell when he started talking about the evil malpractice lawsuits. According the the Journal of American Medical Association doctors kill more people each year than traffic accidents, or about the same number of people as 3 jumbo jet crashes per day, every day of the year. But we are suppose to give them free rein? that did it for me.....

If the VA gov race was meaningless then why did brobama feel the need to come and campaign against McDonnell. Just like he went and campaigned in NJ and Mass and the dems lost in all three places very convincingly.

Obama is on a short leash with Americans and I think he's starting to realize it for his address tonight. He knows the Republicans are going to run the show come November.

Because it was one of the few elections last year and Deeds needed the support - didn't know NJ was that "convincing" either. Obama played really no part in anyones vote here btw, at least that's what the voters said. A governor doesn't do anything outside of this state, he also campaigned for congressman too and two more House seats were picked up.
