I think television has played a massive role in the way the Catholic Church is viewed. We can say that all the heads of T.V. land are fully against Christianity.

You are right... the pastor has an obligation to serve and lead... not control and munipulate the sheep.... they are not above anyone... but I have seen this also.

The Fundamental Beliefs of the Catholic Church

"The Purgatory teaches that who die in the state of grace must spend indefinite time being purified for heaven and that the prayers and good works of others on Earth can help those in purgatory. (John Ankerberg). Purgatory does not come from the bible it is based on Catholic Tradition. There are seven sacraments that the Roman Catholic Church taught; baptism, confirmation, penance, holy Eucharist, holy orders, matrimony and anointing the sick and that these sacraments correspond to various stages of life between life and death. In the Roman Catholic Churches it is absolutely necessary to baptize infants. (Harold J. Berry). In 1534 the Roman Catholic Churches were very faithful to their beliefs and religion. (John Weldon).

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church: "All who die in God's grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven."
