    Age of Immorality

It is no longer politically correct to call AIDS a "gay" disease. In fact, to do so is to risk the wrath of human-rights groups crying "hate speech" ? as if it were a slur, rather than an historical fact.

Now that AIDS has spread across the whole culture, including heterosexuals of both sexes, the politically correct response is to ignore its principle method of transmission.

In 1980, Air Canada flight attendant Gaetan Dugas was diagnosed with the first North American case of AIDS. Dugas was a notoriously promiscuous homosexual who reputedly had sex with as many as 250 partners a year in gay "bathhouses."

By the end of that year, there were 31 deaths in the United States, confined within the homosexual community. (Dugas himself survived until 1984, by which time AIDS had begun reaching epidemic proportions.)

Currently, it is estimated that almost 1 million Americans are now infected with the HIV virus that causes AIDS. And women account for almost half of all HIV victims.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, the majority of the rest of the victims were gay or bisexual men. The CDC report also noted that women are less than half as likely to transmit the disease to men.

The CDC in Atlanta recently released the latest AIDS figures in a report released in connection with World AIDS Day. According to the CDC, new AIDS and HIV cases in 32 states studied rose by 11 percent between 2000 and 2003. Of the 125,800 new victims examined in the CDC study, 44 percent of them were gay or bisexual men.

"Men who have sex with men continue to constitute a substantial proportion of HIV-AIDS cases," said the CDC.

The simple truth is that everybody is afraid to admit the simple truth. AIDS continues to spread at a higher rate among homosexuals than it does among heterosexuals. The principle method of transmission among both groups continues to be sex outside of a monogamous marriage.

Barring transmission by accidental infection, like a blood transfusion, a monogamous marriage is the only certain way to avoid getting the disease.

About 2,000 years ago, the Apostle Paul penned this warning to one generation, somewhere in time: "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come." Paul then lists the desperate spiritual conditions that will mark that generation in a unique way.

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

    ? 2 Timothy 3:1-7

Paul also warns in Romans 1:26-27:

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

Morality is fast becoming a joke, "family values" is code for "right winger," and the two most powerful social lobbies in the United States are gay rights and abortion rights.

We are living in the "perilous times" forecast for "the last days" by the Apostle Paul before Christ's return. That means the Lord is coming. And He is coming soon.
