I'm just curious, why is it that the undershirt has to be the dominant color, and himmed? whats the big deal about it? and if the ref's dont realize the shirts not the right color until after tipoff, can they still make the player take the undershirt off?
It is a team game so all have to be dominant as the team uniform. No one can be different as it would draw attention to themselves and not the team. Shirt has to be himmed for, a better word, a look of class, and not like you just cut out the sleeves. You have to look sharp.
pretty sure it's b/c if someone were to wear a white shirt under an away jersey, the home team could mistake them for someone on their team making it an unfair advantage

impossible hokie22. you're not going to mistake a big blue jersey for a big red jersey even if both players have on a white undershirt.

The t-shirt rule is to keep players dressed as a team. The realson the shirt has to be hemmed is to keep players from looking like thugs.
