EASTVALE (CBSLA.com) — A vigil will be held Sunday evening for four teenage friends that were killed in a fiery multi-vehicle crash in Chino earlier this week.
According to the coroner’s office, Nathan Dominguez of Corona and Andrew Anthony Deleon, 19, of Mira Loma have been identified as two of the victims.
Officials said four bodies were recovered at the scene, however, they were severely burned beyond recognition.
According to the Chino Police Department, officers were sent around 8:46 p.m. Friday to a collision located on Pine Avenue between Mill Creek Avenue and Chino Corona Road.
Once on scene, police said they found three vehicles — a 2000 full size extended cab Chevrolet truck, a 2002 Honda Civic and a 2013 Honda Accord — involved in the crash.
Two of the vehicles were engulfed in flames, officials said.
Authorities said four male victims traveled in the Chevrolet truck, which caught on fire after crashing into the k-rail, triggering a chain reaction car pile-up.
Police said the driver of the Honda Civic was released from the scene with non-life threatening injuries.
Pine Avenue was closed until noon Saturday as detectives continued their investigation.
Luis Ayal Medoza, 47, of Corona was also killed in the crash, police said.
Identification of the other two victims are being withheld pending family notification.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
