Hi all -
My birthday girl (my youngest just turned 4 today) decided that when her Molly gets back from the Gilly Gals Spa, she needs glasses (she's never had them--she came from ebay).
My question--is it worth getting the AG ones, or do the "fakes" like from Springfield collection also work well? I want them to fit the doll well, since, after all, my daughter is only four, and I'd rather not be replacing glasses constantly.
Thanks for any input.

Molly NEEDS glasses! I would get the silver ones for her. Do they still make those? Ask AG for Molly glasses replacements.

I think the AG glasses fit better.

The new lilac ones stay on WAY better than the new tortoise shell ones. I would never take Sienna out of the house with the tortoise shell ones because they would be lost for sure - but the lilac ones should be OK.

Molly HAS to have the silver ones! I have the tortiose shell ones for her as well, and the silver ones are the only ones that look good. AG still sells them, they're with the other glasses.
They stay on great! In fact, my Molly's newest pair of silver ones are almost too tight, lol.

Well, I don't know if the new Molly doll glasses are made better now, but I bought Molly for my dd a few years ago and I think we got lucky and got an older doll (West German). Well, I saved the glasses until she turned 6. She was so excited and *very* carefully put them on her as I watched. The glasses instantly snapped in the middle. She was so sad. I never got her a new pair, because I didn't want to keep having to replace them.

We have had an older original Molly and a 2004 Molly. I prefer the quality and design of the newer Molly glasses. They go on easier and they stay on better too. I also have the new lilac glasses and I like those too.

I'm with Ria. Molly has to have glasses. She can't see without them!
My Molly is new, from AGPC this summer, and her glasses stay on quite well. I think the quality is excellent. Also, AGs lenses on the silver glasses are smaller in diameter than the Springfields, which I think is a better look for Molly.

I like the AG glasses for the dolls but I understand your dilemma with a four year old. I have Grandaughters from thirteen to 12 years old, and all love my collection of AG. They play non stop with the girls when they are over but I keep a collection of Springfield glasses and other off brand items for the younger ones to use on the dolls. They don't seem to mind using these, they fit well and they really don't know the difference. I think they like the fact that this is their personal box of items to use!!

That's weird - I have the tortoise shell ones but they stay on my AGT w/ no problems.
