Elizabeth?

Now I keep reading rumors about an Elizabeth doll coming out (Felicitys friend). Which I am all for, and would get her if she came out. But I am wondering where all these rumors are coming from. That, and why Felicity suddenly? No offense, I love my Felicity too, but AG seems to be canceling out a lot of Felicitys items and she is not even represented in the catalogue anymore. It seems like they suddenly just said, "Wait we have this other girl that we forgot about, lets try to bring her back by introducing her friend..." I don't know.

It is kind of why I question the Elizabeth rumors, because save for the fans who loved her to begin with (or knew of her existence from previous catalogues) she seems to be the forgotten American Girl. So why suddenly this interest in Felicity? Or at least a Felicity friend.

Again, I love my Felicity dearly as much as all my other girls... but I am one of those people who has to see it to believe it. And with some of the things AG seems to have stacked against her... it doesn't make sense.

Does anyone else see what I mean?

I know exactly what you mean. I was pretty surprised too to hear that a Felicity movie will be coming out when they don't even advertise Felicity in the catalog and they have discontinued many items of hers. I guess this is AG's way of bringing her back to life.

If things go as well as they did with Samantha's movie, we will be seeing a lot more Felicity stuff soon.

I hope it all works out well. I am one who would love to see more Felicity stuff, especially her friend Elizabeth.

Since Julia Roberts is producing the movie, I'm thinking that it was her decision to do the next movie based on Felicity. Maybe she or her niece especially liked Felicity's books, or thought that her story would translate well into a movie format. And I'm sure that after the success of the Samantha movie, and subsequent boom in sales of Samantha/Nellie items, AG realizes that it will be sure to boost interest/sales in Felicity also.

If you do a search on this board on "Elizabeth" or "Felicity movie" you'll find that these aren't pipe dreams.

The Felicity movie is in the script writing stage, and will probably air on WB on or before Thanksgiving 2005.

Felicity's friend, Elizabeth, will be released this year, probably during the summer (July - August), as part of the publicity leading up to the movie.

AG has discovered that it can add dolls to the historical line without the extensive lead time it takes to create an original AGH by producing 'friend of ____' dolls.

Considering how successful Nellie was this is a no-brainer on their part...now if they'll just order enough stock to meet the demand....

Lori, Felicity & Willow Jade

As Lori pointed out, there have been many articles written where they state another movie is in the works. Also, Gabby met with Valerie Tripp during a book signing in New York and she told Gabby she was writing a story for Elizabeth, Felicity's friend. Ms. Tripp has also written some on the board to let them know she has finished the Elizabeth book. The only thing of Felicity's that has been supposedly retired is the Traveling dress which all the other dolls that had an outfit to go with a short story book from that year have also had the outfits discontinued. Based on the Trademark name, Ms. Tripp's book, and information from various news sources people have gathered the information about Elizabeth.
