The Felicity movie is in the script writing stage at the moment. Sets will not be a problem -- Colonial Williamsburg will be more than glad to have story filmed there, think of the publicity.

There are plantations in the area that can 'stand in' for Felicity's Grandfather's house.

The Samantha movie had only one 'big name' (big bucks) actor, Mia Farrow. Not sure which role will be the 'name' actor in Felicity's story. Rest of cast will probably be unknowns, they're cheaper.

I will not be surprised if Felicity's grandfather is played by an Englishman... (pity Sean Connery's a Scot).

3, what Vaelrie Tripp wants to write. (not to exclued Janiet Shaw and others.)

Valerie Tripp is already writing Elizabeth's story. (You can find out more about this by doing a board search on 'Elizabeth' or Valerie Tripp.)

4, this is more of a well maybe reason there is a factor of other things. Large item sales like sled I belive a large item will be sold with each doll.

The AGoT horse that is called Penny in no way resembles the Penny of the books. Penny is a sorrel (copper red), the AGoT horse is a bay (brown with black mane and tail). I really hope AG takes this opportunity to do a proper Penny and extend the flocking all the way to the hooves.

Regardless of movies if Nellie is any indication of sales. Only a moron will close down a produceing gold mine. Also WB was so pleased with the result of Samantha they have made a contract with Mattel for 3 more shows.

WB contracted with Julia Robert's film company (Red OM) for 2 more movies which are tie-ins to the Mattel/AG product line, in this case Felicity and Elizabeth. Publicity released by WB and Red OM states that Felicity is the subject of the next movie. If I remember correctly, the third film will be about Kit.

I still question what Mattel is planning. There are many factors to concider.

2, actors (there is only so much make-up can do to someone before they start to look silly.)Think of Hugh Jackman in yellow spandex...ick. It would be easier to find an actor who looks like Kit or Molly then it would to find someone who looks like Kaya or Josefina. (not saying there are no fine actors that are hispanic or native american just ones that would agree to work on a project such as this.)

The authors are there to write the books for the friends. If they don't feel the vibe on Kit's Ruthie but a strong pull on Felicity's Elizbeth guess who is going to get done. Which was the reason I was told Ruthie would be next and she obvouly isn't.

Felicity already has Penny so all that will really be needed is maybe a chair or carrage for her to pull Felicity and Elizabeth. They won't have to make a new horse. Which if they have any brains at all they will make Blackie for Kirsten, a burro for Josefina, Speaking Rain's brown pony with lead rope and ect. after all most of these are chirstmas stories and it seems the animals are important.

There are places in the US that look like they did in the past because A) Much of it looks like it did in the past i.e. Williamburg B) It witnessed an important historical event or C) It is the setting of a famous book ect.
For Kaya, there might be an advantages because much of it is just in nature without a lot of elaborate sets needed. But where do you find one place where the whole film can be shot that does not distrurb the local wildlife?-3 1/2
Josefina-There are many old ranchos which this could take place in. If the producers decide to include the summer story this could be more of in issue, but they'd probably have the whole thing on the Rancho-5
Kirsten-There are historical places that could serve as Marysville and Kirstens settlement, but the places in Meet Kirsten could be a problem. The riverboat won't be too much of a problem, there are historical river boats on the Missisipi, but 1850s Chicago and New York could be a problem, especially since the area covered in NY is so large. And with that story, it would be hard to film in one location. 2 1/2
Addy-for the plantation, any old southern estate could suffice. For Phildelphia, it could be possible to find a place. Again, it might be hard to film in one location. 3
Kit-One city. One location. Easier to find an accurate looking place. This Cincinnatian hopes they will chose the authentic location. As if. 4 1/2
Molly-even easier than Kit for the same reason.5

Next catagory...
actors

Kaya-Hard. Not many Native american actors out there. 1
Josefina-There aren't as many hispanic actors out there, but there are enough and there aren't a lot of extras needed. 3 1/2
Kirsten-Will not be hard to find actors that look like Kirsten and her family, but it may be challenging to find ones that can speak with an authentic sounding Swedish accent. Other than Kirstens immediate family, not an much of an issue. 4
Addy-the minority thing is not much of an issue, there are more black actors out there than Hispanic or Native American-4 1/2
Kit-easy. For resons mentioned before-5
Molly- same as Kit. 5

Third- writing

Molly, Kit-Valerie Tripp is willing. 5

Kaya, Kirsten-Janet Shaw is more of a wild card, but she did write Kaya's mystery- 4 1/2

Addy- Connie Porter is the least profolic writer for the collection. She did write Addy's summer place a few years ago, so 3

Of course, if the original author objects, they can always get someone else.

Kaya- Hmm... well, there is already horses and a teepee, what would the big item be? I suppose Speaking Rain's pony, gosh it will be hard to collect all those horses 3

Josefina- The burro? 3

Kirsten-Blakie with Sleigh. 4 1/2

Addy- Being a city girl, there isn't a big animal that they could sell, plus Addy pretty much walked everywhere. 1

Kit- Again, shes a city girl. Hmmm... 1

Molly-see Kit above. 1

So according to Jecca's requirments Kaya-12, Josefina-15.5, Kirsten-15.5, Addy-11.5, Kit-15.5, Molly-16.

If anyone knows of one, please post and tell us about it. I'd love to see it. Kit's story is unique and would make great entertainment as well as being informative and inspiring, especially in these times of tight budgets.

Two other factors for consideration are popularity and the "is this approprate for the kiddies" factor.

Popluarity
Kaya: Widely acknowledeged as the least popular historical, but this could work the other way if AG decides to use a movie to promote her. 2.5
Josefina: If backorders are any indication of popularity, 4
Kirsten: Pretty popular 3.5
Addy: Also pretty popular 3.5
Kit: widely acknoledged as the second most popular doll. 5
Molly: popular. 4.5

The "is this approprate for the kiddies" factor.

Kaya: I haven't really read the series, but I've heard it's a little more mature than the other books. 3
Josefina: There doesn't seem to be any problems. 5
Kirsten: Marta's death could be a problem, but they might just omit Marta from the script. 4.5
Addy: this is where the words "history isn't pretty" comes to mind. I'd love an Addy movie but I'm always worried that they will tone it down or not do a movie at all all. 2-2.5
Kit: Besides parhaps the summer story, this seems to pass the test. 4.5
Molly: this one is pretty much for the kiddies, besides the war referances. 4.75

Sorry about that. I had stuff to do. Anyways, based on these and other factors, assuming another doll is not introduced (won't happen) and movies come out annually, we'll probably see a line up like this

Actually, the rumor is that Emily is the next BF in the line, so Molly will probably get the movie. It was a rumor about Jess, three new American Girl mysteries, and new Bitty Baby outfits. All of it came true. So I'm assuming the Molly movie will be the next AG to get the movie. I love all of the American Girl stories. They each give so many emotions. They also help me think how it would've been to be that American Girl. I don't care what movie comes next, but Molly, Kit, Kaya, or Addy would rock!
