Has anyone ever noticed that in the AG catalogs, that pretty much always use girls with no bangs, even when the majority of the AGT dolls have bangs? I found this to be true with some of the older catalogs as well. Hmm... interesting...

Hmmmm...interesting observation, I looked through the catalog and sure enough out of all the girls only 1 has bangs.

It is probably because bangs are currently out of fashion, although that rarely lasts for more than a year or two. Bangs are a "classic" look which means that they will never disappear from fashion, but will come and go in cycles. Mary Janes style shoes are the same...

I think the primary reason behind that is that all the new dolls dont have bangs and they are trying to market them. And like Taffy said, bangs are currently not as fashionable. Although I personally think they have been out of style-in that really thick AG fashion-for quite some time. Even though they have made some of a comeback, they are the wispy kind like Lindsey or Nellie. Most little girls I see have bangs like that or none at all.

Although I like the look of the original AGTs, Im very glad to see them branching out. Those older dolls look so much alike. I also want to see more shorter haired dolls like AGT21. Considering her popularity, Im surprised they have not introduced a darker haired version of her or another doll with hazel eyes. I think AG could really benefit from starting a customized doll line, but that would totally detract from what they have now.

It always strikes me as funny. I always see little girls with bangs, you'd think AG would search for some, at least for the AGT line, with the "look like you dolls" you'd think they'd want to show them looking like some girls.

In one of the newer catalogues, there's a picture of a little dark haired, banged girl in the Licorice Best Friend outfit, and she's obviously supposed to match the AGT wearing that outfit- AGT23 with no bangs. But standing with her is a little blonde girl who has no bangs, wearing the Coconut BF outfit. The AGT matching her is one of the older dolls with bangs, lol. They should have switched them.

Like Taffy said, bangs are always going to be in style, they go in and out a bit, but bangs are just a classic look. However, the thick, thick bangs that most of the banged dolls (not Nellie or Lindsey) have are just TOO much. Those bangs wont be "in" again for a long, long time.

I see no reason for them to not make more dolls with bangs, they just need to stop using the really thick ones, they're a bit much.

I know if I ever have a daughter, she'll have bangs until she's old enough to decide for herself if she wants them. I've had bangs for the majority of my life, I had them until I was about 12, and then I grew them out, but cut them back again in January, and I really like the way I look better with them.

I had bangs my whole life, and my future daughters will have them too.
