How does THAT happen??? I think I am the only person I know whose hair actually got LIGHTER as I grew up. Weird.....

Four of her 5 kids (who are 7, 10, 15 and 17) are all either VERY blonde or dark blonde.. my 5 1/2 yr old is dark blonde going light brown.. but NO black / brown highlights.. she will be able to highlight her hair with blonde highlights easily when she is older.. I could never do that.. it goes funky on me.. LOL!

I would be excited to see a bi-racial doll, a asian doll, a hawaiin doll... To me she looks like she's got some ethinticity to her...which is cool. I see that I wasn't the only one that thought maybe there was some family roots there. Just because her last name is Mc - doesn't mean she's going to be scottish, but could have roots in scotland. In America someone could lets say have an Italian name, but only have Italian from their 4 greats grandparent. I am looking forward to seeing the doll. BUt, custopmer service still doesn't know anything about her as of today... (I caught someone on the phone checking about an order, and had them ask.)

I think she looks at least part African-American. Perhaps she'll resemble AGT 26.

our kids could pass for siblings
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You too?! I am best friends with my first cousin who is only 8mos older than me and her younger brother is 6mos-to the day!-younger than my brother. When we were little people thought we were two sets of twins! Granted, her brother took after her mother's side and is tall and as skinny as a bean pole while my brother took after our family and is short and solid, LOL However, we still look like sisters. Thats espcially funny since when we were little they looked more alike than we did.

Do you unintentionally dress them in similar clothes like our moms did? We would go to family functions and be dressed in the same outfit but with a different color or just something really similar totally on accident. LOL, you just got me thinking of my childhood on that one.

Either way, your kids sound adorable

Thanks for posting the pic and all of the different variations everybody! I was intrigued by her story when the board first started discussing it, but I love the way she looks on the cover and can't wait to see what she looks like as a doll!

Very excited!! DD saw the picture over my shoulder and started jumping up and down!

As a side note to Angie/shortie discussion, in my family, my cousin and I were born 18 days apart and when we were little they dressed us alike for pictures. A different aunt was pregnant the same time I was, so DD and my cousin are 12 days apart and could pass for sisters too. A couple years ago they almost looked like twins. We have dressed them the same and had their pictures taken. My uncle's family has predominantly red hair, but the brown on our side of the family won out and 8 yr old cousin has brown hair. We have Native American in our background.
