I've been browsing eBay for a cheap (in price) Mattel Felicity for my cousin for Christmas. I finally won one for a good price, and when she came I packaged her up in nice wrapping and everything. I made the ribbon all curly and wrote a little letter. I thought she would LOVE it.
I talked to her on Instant Messaging after this and asked her if she thinks she would like Felicity. She said of course she would and she would like to have her. I was so excited!
Well, to my utter dissapointment, she Instant Messaged me today and said that she was thinking about my question, if she wants Felicity, and she told me that she realized shes not into them anymore and wants to stop collecting. I almost cried, of course, because shes was my only real life AG friend. I didn't say anything back to her because I felt angry and betrayed. I know thats kind of harsh but I do. It's not her fault, she can't help it if she doesn't have a true interest anymore but I feel like she just ditched me and left me hanging. She has Kirsten and AGT23. I'm going to ask for them if shes going to give them away. I can't believe shes doing this...
Anyway, sorry I've been posting new topics so much lately. Theres just a lot going on and I need to vent somewhere.

I'm so sorry, Elle! Did you ask her why she isn't interested in them anymore? I understand because my friend Lauren keeps switching back and forth on me. One day, she'll tell me she wants Elizabeth soooooooo badly, and the next, she'll tell me that she doesn't want another AG and thinks they're stupid ! I hope everything gets better .

Maybe, as she's gotten older, she's become embarrassed to admit that she likes dolls? Or maybe she just had gotten caught up in the excitement surrounding Lissie's movie?
I hope that it all works out in the end. Please let us know.

So sorry about that, I bet it does hurt your feelings, Im so glad that just about everyone of my DD friend are getting Ag's this year.. but alot of girls in the 4th grade laugh at her because she loves and I mean loves dolls/ and teddys, she is just to much tho she could care less who knows , what anyone thinks , she even takes them to school. She has a pocketbook and she takes coconut with her everywhere and shows it to anyone who will listen.. Her what I want for christmas story is haning on the wall in her class room and it says.. All I want for christmas Is Nellie and lots of clothes and licorice and everything in the magazine.. at the end it says estimated total 457.00 , her teacher thinks she is so funny because she doesnt care who knows she likes dolls still... anyways hon Im so sorry about what happened to you you have every right to be angry..

No, she never really LOVED them like I did, and when we went to AGPNY she never smiled in any of the pictures. I thought she was interested in them but I don't even think she was too happy to even be there with me.

It's hard to grow up and have your interests change, but it's even harder when you grow apart from friends and family because of it. I know you're sad, but try not to blame her. It doesn't sound like she's trying to be mean, just honest. You should also be honest with her and tell her how much it means to have her a friend to enjoy AGs with. If she was never as into them as you, maybe it's just time for the two of you to find other similar interests. Would you normally spend so much on a gift for her, or is this a special exception? Why not sell the Felicity on eBay and buy something nice for yourself, and get her a smaller gift of something she does like.
