I always stay invisible when I am at work- of course, the amount of posting I tend to do, you can usually tell that I'm on

I, too, am normally invisible. I hardly ever sign off, and don't really like it to look like I'm at the computer (much less at hb) 24/7. I sort of forgot to sign on invisibly last time, and don't care enough to sign off and then on again. Next time I need to restart, lol.
Even if you are signed in, your name only shows up if you are currently at the site. So unless you keep your browser open, and on HB 24/7, your name won't show up 24/7
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks for reminding me of that. I try to log on and log off and stay visible, but sometimes I neglect ot log off. I thought there was a feature on HB like what you described.Originally posted by Skittl1321:

To clear up some confusion . . .
* Invisible people (eek! ) are actually members who are signed in, and can post while being invisible.
* When you sign in, you can check whether you want your name to be seen by others or not. People who are "invisible" are the ones who said they didn't want their name posted.
As to why some people are invisible, it just gives you more privacy. That's why I don't have my name listed. When I had my name listed (it lists at the top of Hostboard main pages) newbies from any boards would e-mail ME when they had a question, because my name is listed in bold as a moderator. They were individuals not on my board, with tecchie quesions I'd never know the answer to. They would e-mail/PM me and want an answer *immediately.* Because I was online, they expected me to be there to help them. While I felt bad that they were having problems and understood they were upset, I couldn't help, and it was very distracting.
For me, the best and only option is to be invisible.

I haven't signed on or off in ages, but I'm never invisible. I don't see the connection... please explain?
Thanks,
Tra
