semi-formal and formal dress picture request!

I bought some fabric and am not good at using patterns that you buy, so I try to make my own. I want to try to make some formal dresses. Can anyone post some pictures of their dolls in formal or semi formal gowns/dresses? They'll help me get some ideas. Thanks!

I highly suggest patterns by Joan Hinds. I have a few of her books and love them; I prefer them to regular patterns like McCall's and such.

I agree, very pretty dress! I especially love the fabric, such a gorgeous shade of blue. I don't have any good formal dresses yet, but I'll show you the one I plan to buy in the future.
