I just saw your Spawn series number 27 where Spawn is being hung. I just wanted to e-mail you my displeasure with the figure. First off I am a LONG TIME McFarlane addict, but I am also a history major in college! America has a long history of treating African Americans horribly, especially after the civil war through the use of lychings. I know Spawns alter ego is African America and making a figure where Spawn has been "lyched" is disgusting to me. I would have hoped you would have more descency at your company than to do something like this. From the outside this looks like a BLATENT racist figure disigned by the likes of the KKK. Pull the figure, we have enough race problems in America without your toy!
You really, really -- and I mean REALLY -- need to do some research before mailing this sort of stuff. What are they teaching you in the history program of your university? Evidently spelling isn't one of them ... -- Ed.
I remember the month that issue came out. A woman walked into a comic shop with her son, and saw the cover. She went and bought all the issues so no one else would see them, and then called the local papers to complain.
Talk about good publicity... and the store sold out, so ordered more!
