Closet Seinfeld fanatic!
So you used to watch television, eh?
I did! I was quite the watcher of television. Don't you remember my reference to the War and Peace episode?
I still might watch L&O (whatever variation happens to be on) or Will and Grace or something, but overall, I have completely lost interest and patience in/with TV. I don't even watch the Simpsons anymore.
Basically, network television blows. Although I confess to be an avid watcher of Desperate Housewives & Lost. I hate any "reality" show with a passion! I am religious for my sci-fi shows Enterprise (soon to be gone) Andromeda (which has gotten down right silly) and my latest discovery, Dr. Who (CBC repeats of a British production). I've also seemed to have picked up an addiction for Spike TV's reruns of CSI.
Battlestar Galactica looks like a good show but being old and bent, I rarely stay up late enough to watch it. I'll have to catch up on the summer reruns.
Oh, I liked the Dr. Who. They used to show him on PBS down in these parts. My fave was the guy in the rust-red coat with the red-head chick and the robot dog. They rocked. I also used to watch things like "Masterpiece Theatre"--honestly! I get all excited when I hear they are filming a 200 year old book the way fanboys get excited about filming comics.
I haven't watched any of these new-fangled shows you mentioned, though I have heard enow about them that I feel as if I have. I think the last cable series I tried to follow was Witchblade. Oh, and as for reality TV, I only used to like to watch that "American Idol" for the first couple of episodes when they had all the truly gruesome tryouts. Once they choose their contestants it is no longer interesting. I didn't bother this year, though.
Still, I've pretty much become a DVD fanatic. I just watch my old movies, and six seasons of Xena, Warrior Princess ad nauseum. Thanks to Jor, I've collected a number of badly-transferred collections of bad movies in sets of 10-50, as well. I truly love some of them, I highly recommend Corman's "Bucket of Blood"--a cheap production that somehow turned out very compelling.
You know, the more I think of it, the more I am sure this Collective Soul thing is an aberration. Its not like I would actually spend any money on their albums or anything...
