Posted this over at joecustoms.com when I first read the news:

    Such a shame.

Palisades was putting out some gorgeous stuff, and I couldn't wait for all of their 4" lines-- AOD2, Terminator 2, Planet of the Apes. Those were really gonna be some of the highlights of '06 for me.

They made their mistakes, but this is really the situation where the worst thing happened to genuinely nice people. In the past, I've had the fortune to talk with the super-awesome Travis Allen and very sweet Mary Vaughn for the magazine, and was always more than happy to cover them in the toy section as often as I could.

As a matter of fact, LO-FI had arranged an interview with Mary and other Palisades staff just before Christmas, before all this occurred. Too bad I'll never have a chance to finish that piece. I was really looking forward to finding out all the top-secret stuff planned for the next year.

It's a terrible loss, and I'm very sad to read about it. I wish everyone at Palisades the best.

    Thumbs up

Yep, bums me out. Their 4" Planet of the Apes figures was the line I was looking forward to the most this year. Would have been a dream come true.

You guys are always one news story behind.

Another company has picked up all of Palisades' assets and is continuing their lines.

Check out www.action-figure.com. They tend to have the latest news.

Yes Hoffman, that is old news, but I highly doubt the 4" Planet of the Apes will be made, considering pretty much 0 work had been done on them. I have a feeling a lot of stuff will be scrapped. I do hope I am wrong, but I have my doubts.

Actually, they aren't 'picking up their lines'. I suspect we'll see the Factory X Buffy stuff make it out alright, but Sesame Street, ATHF, and other stuff is highly unlikely. Palisades didn't have the money to actually get that stuff to production, so for Limited to do it they'd have to negotiate their own license with the licensors.

I think Limited is handing out some serious BS right now, but we'll see at Toy Fair.
