    I am trying to install an ordinary generic PCI modem for dial up, but the first time I tried, my satellite card stopped to work, so I have to uninstall the modem and reinstall the Sat card. Obviously there is a conflict...

    Can't I specify a port for the modem before installing it ? I am using Win 2000.

    depends on your cards unfortunately... Some hardware will just move on to the next com, but some cards are stubborn...

    And I don't want to spend money on that PC, because I only use it to watch TV...
