Only one review tonight, but he's a big guy - the Mega Scale Pumpkinhead from SOTA Toys. Now this guy has been getting a harsh wrap the last week or so, and I'll admit he isn't going to get a stellar score. But he's not as bad as some folks have made him out to be, and while the paint isn't top notch, and he's way over priced considering the quality we've seen in other quarter scale rotocast figures, he's got potential. In the hands of a great painter, this figure could really be amazing. Sadly, I'm not a painter, so for me he's well south of Hitsville.

I'll say it again... What happened between the head and rest of the body?

That's a really disappointing Pumpkinhead. Glad I still got my movie maniacs one.

And $65? Fick das scheisse.

Kinda glad I didn't pre-order omne last week. I think I'll wait for ebay or clearance on him.

This doesn't bode well for Cthulhu though.

Thumbs up

I really was anticipating this figure, but if I have to pay $65+ and still have to repaint him then SOTA deserves the tongue lashing.
I hope he's on clearance before Xmas.

I have the Sota, and while the paint job's a bit on the crappy side (sonsidering what it SHOULD have been) it's still a very fne sculpting job with a very good likeness, and lots of detail. Yes, it's all there under the lousy paint. I like to repaint anyway, so no big deal. It would have been nice though not to HAVE to repaint.

Having said that though, if it came without a blob of paint on it I'd still buy it. It think it's a very impressive piece.

I've spent much more on much smaller model kits of the big fella, but I'd prefer it to have been around 30-40 considering the bland paint.

Just my two cents.
