I agree with Guitardeth. I learned on an acoustic, and I'm a firm believer in doing that.
It will help you build callouses quicker, and like Pooh said, it's better to learn without distortion or effects.
Once you've learned on an acoustic, switching to electric will be a breeze! [img]cool.gif[/img]

On a side note, what types of music do most of you play?
I've played in a bunch of different groups, from country/folk, to punk rock, to good ol grunge rock.
The stuff I've been most into lately is the Tea Party/Days of the new kind of stuff.
I listen to a lot of different types of music, but I'd love to play jazz/blues.
