Yeah, this was announced yesterday. I was very bummed to hear it, as I was with the news of Joey and Dee Dee. I knew it was coming too, but that doesn't make it any easier. I have been listening to the Ramones most of my life.
Tommy is the last original Ramone standing, and I believe HE is the oldest.

I'm still bumming over this and I was posting all over the place about it yesterday...
I lved the Ramones since I first heard 'em in 77.
They were so cool. No, they didn't play a million
notes per second on the guitar, Yes there were better musicians, but they had a spirit and energy that was unparalleled. I remember when Joey passed in 2001, I was like "NOOOOOOO"...Then Dee Dee finally did himself in. When the news hit about Johnny, I
knew it was coming , but it still felt like a kick in the guts. I rarely react this way, but to me The Ramones represented something special that's sorely missing in much of rock'n roll.
Fun. R.I.P. Johnny

Done, I have to say in all the times of watching rock stars die off, The deaths of Johnny (And Joey& Dee Dee before him) really hit me hard.
They were such an important influence on music, and what really matters in Rock 'n Roll.
They always stayed way down to earth, never any
"Rock star"attitude from them..I'll always miss em'.

RIP Johnny. One of my favorite bands of all time. They just did so much for me musically and Johnny was a big part of it.
