Fruits Basket. Here's a tricky one. Well, I watched the first maybe 6 or 7 episodes when they came out in Japan. Stopped, but found it hard to go back.

When the discs were released here, I bought the first two. When the second two discs came out, the were priced high, at $34.99. This is the bestbuy price, mind you. Couldnt find it anywhere else for cheaper. SO I never got them.

About 3 weeks ago, I went into BestBuy, and saw they they finally knocked down the price. $23.99. Cheapest I've ever seen it. So I got volume 4 then, and they had a copy of volume 3 this week, so I grabbed it.

I hope to sit down and watch it soon.

Now the interesting part is that i also usually buy ONLY the stuff i've seen. Except for this one. I know the first 6 eps were good, but i dont know about after that. I just know that it was huge in Japan. So I have been putting my faith in it and hoping it will be good.

And if its horrible, there's always eBay. [img]smile.gif[/img]

And as you mentioned, the number of eps they put on the DVD is great. 6 on the first and second, and 7 on the 3rd and 4th!!!

cool,Ill roll the dice then. was having second thoughts. been spending too much $$$ latly and was thinking of returning it.

BB is strange sometimes in their pricing. Most are priced at $23.99(which at least kicks suncoast and rest at $29.99), but every once in while some things are crazy. Last Exile Vol 1 was $33.99, and vol 2 was $23.99???

btw my friends gonna pick up some Da Capo from Chinatown this weekend. I hate having to buy the Hong Kong dvds, the subs are iffy at best. when they can't even get the chars name right???unfortunatly I cant seem to get Bittorrent to work at my house, so theres no DL'ing for me. and yeah, i cant stand bestbuy now. every anime dvd that came out used to be 22.99. i used to buy everything there without a second thought. Then all of a sudden, a couple months back, they decided to change everything. Only rarely do i see something for the 22.99 price. everything else is 24.99 or 29.99.

The 4th volume of Onegai Teacher is up at 29.99, and i cant stand to buy it! a bucn of others i need too.

Da Capo was great by the way. Great characters. Seemed like it went by too fast I was enjoying it so much. Will definitely be added to my collection when its released here.

Oh yeah, and when you get into FB, let me know. I have the 'fake-sub' (instead of fansub) of the 24th episode, with all bullshit subtitles, and its absolutely hilarious. I dont even know whats going on, cuz i havent see the actual sub of it, but this thing is hilarious. Ill get it to you over IM at some point. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

LOL...yeah I guess when you have a Chinese guy translating Japanese into English your bound to get some sub mistakes. But god in Wolf's Rain the main character is named Tsume, and the subs call him Llanco..Too funny [img]smile.gif[/img]

i have one of the early HK releases of Cowboy Bebop, and its really early release, so their subbers are absolutely horrible.

They actually have Spike calling Jett "Jeff"

and Jeff calling Spike & Ed "Spike-ou" and "Ed-o"

Great...I love Kon's work. If you liked Perfect Blue youll deffinatly dig MA. Its very sureal, theres parts where your like ,waitaminute, is that? No? yeah..NICE!!!

And DEFFINATLY check out Tokyo Godfathers,if it hits a theater near you. I went to Big Apple Anime Fest last year and Kon's team worked nights trying to get it ready to premiere at BAAF. I dont think it was even out in Japan yet. Totally different style. Not cerebral at all. Just a straight out story of friendship, forgivness and life. It made me feel so good for days. Cant wait to see it again. I think its hitting theaters soon [img]smile.gif[/img]
