In the X-Men issue that came out yesterday Gambit got his powers back, but he didn't have control and a card blew up in his hand and the explosion was so huge it blinded him.

Also, he and Rogue joined back up with everyone in the last arc of X-Treme.

He and Rogue are now on Havok's team, along with Juggernaut, Iceman, and Polaris. Wolverine's on all, and it seems the "Xorn" they've found is the real one now...he's in that team pic too.
