Coming out of my dark hole for a second here.

    Found at Comics Newsarama:

"ITEM! X-editor Mark Powers gave Newsarama an update on those ?solo X-Men? mini-series announced a few months back.

First up in August is the previously announced Rogue mini-series by Fiona Avery and Aaron Lopestri. Cyclops will also go on sale that month, with the creative team of writer Brian K. Vaughan (Swamp Thing) and artists Mark Texeira and Jimmy Palmiotti. Nightcrawler follows in November, written by a comics newcomer, playwright/actor Chris Kipiniak. An artist has not yet been assigned."

Great news, Rexie! Danke! He will survive the Morrison Massacre! Yay! Hmmm...has anyone heard of this writer? A newbie could be good or bad, I look forward to seeing how this develops. I'll cross my fingers, toes and tail for Alan Davis or Adam Hughes as artist, but alas, I know better.... I can dream though...*sigh*

    Ooooh...Now, where's that blue velvet...

Interesting. I've done a little websearch on this Kopiniac guy and found he has written a couple of Science-fiction related plays and also has written a Deep Space Nine comic for Malibu comics in 1995. http://www.landfield.com/faqs/star-t...ection-5.html) Also, he has starred in several theatre productions in the last few years.(
Not a lot, but hey, the legendary Chris Claremont came from the very same background...

Oh, I forgot to include the last bit: Powers also said that they're postponing the Angel mini until next year, but that there'll be an Iceman mini in its place. I know at least BAMF! will be happy about that. smile

Hey, wait a minute! I just did a little search of my own, and I found that this Kipiniak character was in an adaptation of the _Metamorphoses_ that I saw about a year ago in Berkeley! So I've SEEN this guy! I loved the play so much that I kept the program, so I'll see if I can't come up with some more data for y'all. EVERYONE was incredible in that production, so I can at least assure you that the guy's a terrific actor.

    Wow, this is SO weird...

    Question

Metamorphosis. Is that based on the short story about the guy who turns into a giant bug? I'll never forget the first time I read that. What part did he play? I bet he was main character, wasn't he?

This was Ovid's Metamorphoses. It's a bunch of Greek myths about people turning into stuff. It's an incredible poem, but the play was one of the best plays I've ever seen and I'm not even kidding. About 80% of the stage was taken up by a big, shallow pool, so most of the action took place in the water. Each story was adapted in a different way, with a different emphasis on the various ways modern readers interpret ancient myths ... it was really, really good. Kipiniak played Zeus, but he played a lot of other characters, too; there were only like six or so people in the cast.
