yep he's got a lot of powers at his disposal, and they are very useful and cool powers. but they are not earth shattering powers. not deus ex machina powers. he can't blast away anything/anyone with force/plasma/heat/laser etc. beams, he can't stand 10 feet away and knock his opponenent unconsious by jsut thinking about it, he can't endure a beating that would kill 10 men and just brush it off like Rogue or Wolverine. powers or no, he's gotta work for a victory... but that is why i love him so he still kicks ass, and his power do help him, but in more subtle, and i think, cool ways...
as for Rogue. yep. tho i have not read it seeing as i do not read X-Treme either, Sage, you know, thier handy-dandy mutant power making machine, jump started her powers and she now has complete control over the powers of everyone she has ever touched.... i wish we still had the rolling eyes smiley.
like the X-Treme team wasn't already powerful ENOUGH with Rogues usual powers of invulnerability and absorption, a 'living computer', a chick who's power is to 'do whatever is needed' Storm with control over weather and lightning (tho she is cool, but way powerful) a teleporter who can go anywhere on the globe taking the entire team with him, and to top it off you have Thunderbird III with his lovely plasma beams serving as Bishop's battery! gawd...

how i became a ?crawler fan? geez, i guess i could write a book about that heh!
well i saw him the first time in a videogame, then when i started to buy x-men classic he chaptured my attention, i was 13 years old now i'm 22, well he catched my interest and i started to look for excalibur issues, i don't know maybe he caught my attention due his interesting personality, i start to wonder how he could be such a good guy in despite of his features, but anyway, i think i was the only one (at least here where i live!) but i found the forum and now i can't live without it, and without Kurt of course!!!!!!!!!

I must have been napping to miss this thread! Oops! First off, a big. belated HELLO to Lonebamf! And Terra, if I haven't said so before.
Nandireya said: "I've always felt a bit of a misfit myself...a grown woman that reads comic books, watches cartoons and plays video games? We're a rare breed..."
But we do exist. I'm 26, and one of the biggest geek-girls I know. Long live the misfits!
Now, In a roundabout way, my Kurt obssesion is my husband's fault. He's collected comics for 15 years and even used to own a comic shop. I started reading his books so I could understand what the hell he and his friends were always talking about. Through him I read his favorites, Defenders and Hulk, and Avengers, FF, Spidey, Batman and some JLA/JSA. Then I started reading X-Men, much to his disapointment. It was around Operation Zero Tolerence when I started reading, and soon these great, funny characters showed up on a cruise ship, returning from Muir Island. I immediately loved the funny blue guy and the girl, only REALLY learning who they were later. I told my husband how much I liked them and he said, "oh, well then, you should be reading Excalibur." The rest is history. I now have Excalibur's complete run, and am working on collecting prominant Kurt issues. I started cruising the Web, finding Bamf Central and UC's old Indigo Elf site before I ever "met" those guys here. I also discovered the Wizard World thread where this board originated back in summer 2000, and followed everybody here. So, see, it's my husband's fault. ;^) That's what I tell him anyway, when he rolls his eyes at me when I fondle the blue velvet pillows on the sofa.

Yeah, my mom made me a little Kurt stuff doll with this fuzzy blue fabric she has. It's really out of propotion and all, but I love it, cause she did it with no patern or anything...It's still kinda scary sometimes though....

I'm not gonna pretend I haven't made the occassionaly bamf doll... Though I usually make mine out of felt or whatever materials are available. I've recently been on a sewing kick (darn summer!) so I'll probably end up making a new one... as if there weren't enough plush dolls in my room...

I started a bamf doll a while back, and then gave it up. I need to get that little guy back out and work on him. I used a modified teddy bear pattern, and I think it'll work out okay if I just stick to it.
Funny story: Hubby and I were watching TV the other night when we saw the yogurt commercial featuring the husband and wife role-playing with the wife in a French maid costume. Their daughter comes in with a gape-mouthed friend and complains about how weird her parents are. We laughed at the commercial and my husband jokingly said we should try that.
ME: "Ah, honey, you want to wear a French maid outfit for me?"
HUBBY: "No, I'd have to paint myself blue and wear pointy Spock ears for you."
ROTFLMAF! He got me good, didn't he? I should have asked him if he would.

well, i'm a girl so i wont be going as Nightcrawler. but after several comments to the effect of 'you look like Mystique!' specifically the picture i drew of her:

i didn't do it on purpose, but looking at it now, yeah i guess there is a resemblence... so i am considering painting myself blue and going as everyone's favourite shapeshifting psychopath see, my hair is already the right cut, right length, and close to the right colour at the moment.... (tho i have some blonde streaks, but no biggie) just not as much volume. i already wear contacts so i could probably order some yellow ones.... yep if i'm going as anyone, i'm going as Mystique.
