I'm back after BAMF!ing around in outer space for a wee little while. Don't know if you remember me, but here I am! *bluish evil grin* You won't get rid of me too easy...

By the way, I'm gnahrf... I realized some things there out in the vast, and a change of nick seemed appropriate.

Enough of me, it seems things have happened around here, things are happening around here - and more important things seems to be about to happen! A new board? Yay!

About this new place (bamf.us? - extremely cool name in any case) that we're heading for, what's the idea about it? Hmmm... perhaps i should look around the threads for the answer, but I'll do that later if no one feels the urge to answer. [img]confused.gif[/img]

As far as I understand it, we're just moving the board to bamf.us because of all the problems here at Hostboard. About a month or so ago, Hostboard crashed and burned. They were down for a week or more. Things seem better now, but Crawler got the bamf.us domain so that we won't be dependent on them. I think it was also discussed that if Hostboard went down again we'd all regroup at the Dave Cockrum board over on X-Fan at http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/forums/f...?s=&forumid=72

Actually, we will no longer be headed for bamf.us. Unfortunately, I bought from the wrong webhost and the board wont work there. We will, however, have a very fitting domain name. Whatever wins the name election also wins the domain name election. www.nightscrawlers.com or www.bamfcloud9.com for example.

Because of the amount I paid and the way that the people I paid work, it was actually cheaper to get a whole new domain than to move the old one to a webhost that would work with the board. bamf.us will be relegated to hosting pictures or other files so that we don't kill our bandwidth on our new domain.

I have already purchased the space. They have everything we need - more than enough space for the board to go hog-wild, free support, enough bandwidth to keep us trucking, 95% uptime guarantee, and, maybe coolest of all, I bought 100 email addresses with web based email access. So you can be [email protected] or [email protected] (whatever the domain ends up)
