Well I finally spoke with my brother. He hadn't talked to me for about a month or so. (Capricorns are good at holding grudges.) Even if we were just arguing about the difference between Hot Wheels and Matchbox toy cars, it's nice to hear from him.
I hope CB's getting along okay with her sis.

So which is it, Hot Wheels or Matchbox?

LOL!! I don't ever remember getting hit with the track, but I can imagine it would hurt. A LOT!
Originally Matchbox cars were made in England, and were nicely detailed (as compared to say Tootsietoys) models of all sorts of cars and trucks.
Hotwheels began in the US in the late '60s and were pretty much all Muscle Cars, Sports Cars, and such, and had a different wheel design that made them roll MUCH better than Matchbox, so the emphasis was on speed. (they were the ones to introduce the orange track stuff)
Eventually both companies products became pretty similar, and today Mattel produces both.
The cool ones now are from Johnny Lightning. A little more expensive, but much more detailed.
I thought my mom was the only one that used "creative" parenting techniques. I don't want to criticize her because I'm sure I had it coming.
I was watching a comedian talk about the same thing one time though. His mom asked him, "What would you like for Christmas this year, some more Hot Wheels?"
"No thank you. Why don't you get us some Nerf stuff instead."
