    I love storms! Mmmm, lightning!
However, the last big storm, a couple weeks ago, roared through here with 110 kph winds & caused enormous damage.
Last night, this storm rolled through with mild winds and LOTS of lightning!
    I love storms!

I love lightning storms. It just sucks when people get hit by it. A couple of people were killed out here in CA the other day. I think they were Boy Scouts, or their leaders. I remember being told not to stand next to a tree during lightning storms, but what if you're in a forest?

    EDIT: Found a link CNN

It was a leader and a kid.

Yes, Gimli, used to be called New Iceland I think. There were tons of Icelanders who came here about 100 years ago & settled in the interlake region. They've been getting pounded with storms all summer.

    Just look here: http://www.icelandicfestival.com/
    And here too: http://www.gimli.ca/

Naw, that's mud left over from the last flood.
I'm in the north-west of Winnipeg's dot. If you squit real hard, perhaps you can see my orange-trimmed house...
