Wow. This has been the most entertaining thing I've read in weeks. Ersby, you might want to try something like Vicks (menthol) rub to cut the smell of your coworker. Of course, you will then smell strongly like menthol, so it has a good and bad side.

I've had a generally good work experience over the past couple of years. Most of the people I work with are very cool, and at least a little weird. I think you have to have a, um, special personality to work in my agency. My coordinator called me a few days ago. She was super stressed out, and started the call with "I'm not pressuring you..." I've taken the month off, you see. I work anywhere between 40-80 hours a week, depending on what stage the operation is by the time I get deployed. I find that I need to take large chunks of time off to rest, so I don't burn out during those 80 weeks. So she's in Kansas going crazy because /no one/ is available. I swear that she must have repeated "call me first when you are ready to work" about 10 times during our conversation. When I got off the phone with her I could not stop laughing. It's nice to be needed.

Now if they'd only pay me what everyone else doing my job gets, I'd be overjoyed.

God, I hate my job. It's just the same thing every day and I never get any feedback if I do something right, only if I do it wrong.

Anyway, the Austrian woman has decided to stay in London for now so that's nice. But who the hell cares? I mean, what's the point?

I'm quite depressed at the moment. Does it show?

And I keep forgetting to put question marks at the end of the questions in this post. Tsk.

Just so the thread ends with a whimper, not a bang - I asked out the Austrian woman on Friday and she said no.

    C'est la vie.

LOL cats can't mend a broken heart.

(Hmm, I seem to have stumbled upon a country and western lyric)

Anyway, today I took the day off (and Friday) and I applied for four jobs. Wish me luck.

Or, as I originally typed: wish me luicjk.

Job-wise is worse. I just had an interview for a new position in the company as a researcher. Much more interesting. When I took my present position, they actually sold it to me as a way in to this other role.

Trouble is, as I found out at the interview, it pays less. In fact, the pay sucks. I'm a little disheartened, to say the least. After all this time putting effort into a job I despise (though, frankly, most effort was spent holding myself back from punching my co-worker in the neck) and all for nothing.

There is the WORLD'S SMALLEST CHANCE that they may offer me the job with my current salary. But I'm not holding my breath. With Xmas around the corner, I can't do much now, but in the New Year, I'll be looking for a new job. Oh yes.

    And in other news...
A co-worker and myself got extra-friendly sitting in his truck in the parking lot at work. I am so amazed that we didn't get caught.

Did I mention that he is 20? Yeah... I'm a cougar lol
