Okay, More questions from someone who thought they werent a newbie anymore.
I just picked up some old single issues I needed. Vol. 3 #'s 2, 3, and 5. They are all First printing, but are they suppose to be in colour?!?!
That is one of things I love about SIP is that it is in B&W. The Issues in the Trade are B&W. If the issue is in colour shouldn't the Trade issues be in Colour too???
Thanks to anyone who can make my head stop spinning.

Volume 3, #1-5 were in color. When Terry went to Jim Lee's Homage imprint at Image, he went color. They were re-launching the series with a new volume #1 to help boost sales and give new readers a jumping on point to see what all the buzz was about. I guess it was just the right time for a grand experiment. However, as the story goes, Terry didn't like the way the book looked, and switched back to b/w with Issue 6. When Terry reprinted the issues in TPB, he un-colored them, with the exception of Jim Lee's Super Hero dream intro, because it was Jim's work and he didn't want to mess with another artists work.
I for one am in the vast minority who thought the color was better and would be happy to see it in color again. But I won't get into that one....at least not yet!

the color was ok, except for the few continuity errors it caused (francine's jeans turning into shorts and back again, for instance). but terry's work is strong enough and bold enough, what with his inking style, that color can overload it at times.
ultimatly, it didnt' add anything to the book except extra expense.

i thought the colour really distracted from his artwork. it lost detail, and i found it distinctly less personal in a really odd way. it just wasnt right.
plus francine ended up wearing the most hideous outfits!!! at least in black and white you dont realise that she is apparantly colour blind. ok, now im just being a girl... sorry.

on the other hand, had the issues been in black and white, her little green-and-black-striped-spandex-pants-and-fluffy-pink-sweater combo wouldn't have been QUITE as hideous.
