I repeat... Oh my GOD!!
Red herring cover, red herring issue...
Six weeks to 'version two'?! Arrgh!
And btw, I don't like being made fun of. The Creator is cruel. Funny, but cruel.

I don't know how to react to your post honestly.
When I read "red herring" I was really really disappointed, disappointed that the story I was hoping would progress beyond the back and forth girl chasing after the other girl and not wanting the other girl cause the guy she is with likes her JUST LIKE IN GRADE FIVE! lol
I mean I will just skip over it completely if that is the case.

Damn these otherwise wonderful American holidays! You guys got the issue AND WE DIDN'T!
Make sure any spoilers are on a thread with "Spoiler" in the title. Nothin' revealed yet here I didn't guess.
I say this in story ignorance, but I rather expected this issue to be a wrap-up of sorts, not necessarily a full conclusion but the bookend to 8 years; the last, thudding note on A Day In The Life(but not the Pepper Reprise). I truly thought the next one would start the new era.
Nothin'spoiled, but it DOES peak my interest!
(&%#%^&%) Holidays!!

I haven't posted in a while, I only post when there is something interesting going on, but I check in from time to time.
__________MAJOR SPOILER______________
If this is what I think it is, then it is a suprise ending. We don't get to find out what happened to David, we don't get to see the wedding, and we don't get to find out anything else. And I say "ending" because if everything that has happened so far has been a story in a story, and now we get to find out what really happend, there will not be enough readers to keep this comic afloat. It reminds me of the last episode of St. Elsewhere. The whole story ended up being a fantasy of the autistic son of the hospital's administrator. If this had been the actual ending it wouldn't be that bad, but to use it as a REBOOT, well, I'll wait untill I calm down.
P.S.
If anyone liked this issue, I think the rest of us would be very interested in your point of veiw.

I liked it. I liked the entire previous story arch, too, but this may be more interesting that the previous story's conclusion. I'm not going to criticize Terry; it's his book and he can do what he damn well please w/ it.

Could it be, the messiness and maddeningly incomplete nature of the (lack of) resolution on the wedding and David may be because the ending is TRULY resolved at the end of Version Two?
Shouldn't throw out an entire series before the ACTUAL resolution gets a fair chance(just mho, not preaching to the disappointed! )

you know on one hand i feel sorry for Drags that she left before getting to see this... but on the other hand she might have detonated.
My girlfriend had a similer reation, she screamed and yelled and then sat wailing that it was all over. I assured her that it would still go on, even if it was a little different... Terry promised us two more years, and an explanation within the next two issue for all the people saying WTFO!?!
I think the twists make it very interesting and it keeps us from getting to complacent. I notice nobody is going to miss the next issue, even the people who are screaming mad... ;P
