I think fireworks should be legal on the 4th of July.

I think that being a student doesn't give you any more
enlightenment than working at Blockbuster. In fact, if your
parents are footing the bill to put your pansy ass through
4-7 more years of school, you haven't even begun to be
enlightened.

I don't want to eat or drink anything with the words light,
lite or fat-free on the package.

I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God or
gods, just leave the rest of us out of it. This goes double
for sexuality.

My heroes are John Wayne, the Simpson's, and whoever cancelled
Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. I don't hate the rich. I don't
pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste
my time arguing about it.

I think global warming is a big lie. It's been getting warmer
for 200 years. Where are all those experts now, when I'm
freezing my ass off during a long winter and need a mortgage
to pay for natural gas?

I've never owned a slave, or was a slave. I didn't wander
forty years in the desert after getting chased out of Egypt.
I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks
and neither have you, so shut-the-hell-up already!

I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry ass if
you're running from them. I also think they have the right
to pull your ass over if you are breaking the law, regardless
of what color you are.

I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works,
I don't want you deciding who should be running the most
powerful nation in the world for the next four years.

I hate those bastards standing in the intersections trying
to sell me crap or trying to guilt me into making 'donations'
to their cause.

I think if you are in the passing lane and not passing, your
license should be revoked, and you should be forced to ride
the bus until you promise that your sorry ass will never delay
the rest of us again.

I think beef jerky could quite possibly be the perfect food.
I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but
please don't bore me with the pretense that they are a political
statement.

I'm neither angry nor disenfranchised, no matter how desperately
the mainstream media would like the world to believe otherwise.

If that makes me a bad American, then yes, I'm a bad American.

Some good points were made in that. There's also a few I disagree with (beef jerky is perfect?)

One that stood out:

If the quote indicates that people should stay out of other's business and respect differences, I'm all for it. If it is to be taken that people should keep their sexuality secret, then, no, sorry, that doesn't work.

I totally agree on the religion part, though.

Personaly I stay out of other peoples businesses, but I dont like people making a big deal over wether their straight, bi, or gay......dunno...just bugs me

This sticks with me most, because I'm one of those people that thinks its the media that stirs up trouble half the time because of two simple reasons. A honest reporter and honest politician are as rare a tropical forest in Antartica...just doesnt work, and since most reporters cant report anything that can get them in trouble they tend to make big deals about really stupid little things....

Though once in a while they do bring up some wrongs, its just very rare

That is another of the quotes I like, too.

As for the sexuality part, I wish I could articulate my thoughts well on this. Having my shoe on the other foot, per se, I find most people think gays and bi's "flaunt" their sexuality anytime they observe them. A reality of this society is that heterosexuality is dominant and attached to everything. It is the accepted norm and there is no way to get away from seeing heterosexual images. Heterosxuality is so intergrated into every aspect of society that most people hardly notice. Advertisements of every type show a lean to heterosexuality. Even prizes on game shows will offer "his and her watches", etc. A straight couple walking down the street holding hands/arms around each other is very common and no big deal. If a gay couple does it, it becomes "flaunting". No one can, or should, hide their sexuality. Society needs to accept all as normal and not baulk when they see a minority sexuality being displayed. Then, it wouldn't seem as if anyone was "flaunting" theirs.

A lot of good points. On that particular one about the Gods n' Gays, for the gay part, if you're gay, whoopty doo. If you're gay and you think that you have to let me know, I don't like that. If I'm not hitting on you or making my intrest in you apparent, then there's no reason why I should know or care what your sexual preference is.

And Beef Jerky is Perfect. Especially the spicy kind.

You might not care personally, but it's important that gays be open about their sexuality (not that strangers on the street should just walk up to you announcing themselves). People assume that you're heterosexual until told otherwise. By gays staying silent, the myths and stereotypes only persist.
