That's a great method of choosing books Mieke. That's such a great method, I think anyone who uses it must be really, really, REALLY smart..

The BoneSetter's Daughter is on my upcoming list. My gf read it not too long ago (she loved it) and I just haven't picked it up yet. Started reading Lord of the Rings because I'd read The Hobbit and loved it, then the movie came out, which I loved. I bought it in one collected volume. I'm on the last "book"-The Return of the King. Seems strange to try and read just one book at a time, it flows better as one very large volume, IMO.
Anyone looking to read any classics soon? I'm thinking I want to reread "The Stranger" by Albert Camus. I haven't read it since high school and think I'd get more out of it by reading it now.

I was reading the forward on Lord of the Rings....and originaly it was one book...not three. Publishers are the ones that split it up.

I could see it as a 1 book collection. The copies i read were the original ones (before the movie ones came out). and i must say, i fucking loved it. I would have kinda liked to seen tom Bombedell (?think so) in the movie, but i could understand why they cut him.
But 1 character i cant wait to see personified is treebeard

I really didnt like the LOTR trilogy. I found the last half of The Two Towers very entertaining, but that was about it. American Gods was pretty good however.
Anyway, im reading Ubik by Phillip K Dick.

The Stand and IT are my top faves by King. I'm also a fan of the Dark Tower series.
Also starting to read a book "As Nature Made Him", nonfiction that talks about the guy whose botched surgery as a baby was the basis for medical theories that gender was defined by your environment, not birth (the boy was raised as a girl after a botched circumcism when he was 10 months old). Should be a very interesting read.
