Anyone have any experience with this format? They were some of the first to use super 8 mag fullcoat. They put out an editing console called ESTEC that transferred sound from and to stripe from fullcoat or to fullcoat and you edited your audio without splices. They stayed in business about 5 years, maybe less.I've never heard anything good about the company, but their equipment was an interesting concept.

I believe there is a gentleman named Carlos who comes around to some of the other Super-8 forums, perhaps he might know something about estec, just a hunch.

That ain't it Alex.ESTEC stood for Electronic Sound Transfer and Editing Console. There is a picture of one on 8mm filmshooting's gallery. It was basically an editor (Murray viewer) and two synced fullcoat decks. It also was a resolving station where you could tranfer your pulsed tape from tape to fullcoat in sync,or transfer from stripe to fullcoat or back to stripe in sync. You could also edit your mag in sync with picture without physically cutting or splicing the mag.One fullcoat deck was used for playback, one record.
I've thought about converting two of the old Ektasound projectors(the ones that look like tape decks, not the Moviedeck models)to a flatbed,if I could find a tech who could help me.The projectors can be had very cheaply.
