    I have a Bolex SP8 projector and it has no lock on the reel spindles.Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the reels seated?

    I'm really intrigued by this. Is that the way the projector was designed?

    Yes,it's supposed to grab the reel spindle with a sort of flimsy *** spring loaded extra *** on the spindle.It's never worked particularly on different types of reels.

    Thanks for the compliment!

    I seem to recall having a similar problem once.

    I think I resorted to using rolled up masking tape. I put layers of masking tape around the spindle and put the reel over it, when the spindle was locked, the pliable wad of masking tape kind of sort of filled in the reel hub and kind of sort of worked.

    Although I recall that the reel wobbled too much and I ultimately scrubbed that plan.

    I wonder if that company on the east coast that makes the super-8 products would know what you need.
