Here is the link for music video shot with super 8.

Shot by Valtteri Kantanen (Canon 814 XL-S) and directed by Katja Haapimaa. I made workprinter transfer.

Way Cool.

The music has an advertising feel to it, like I'm watching a Coke or Seven-up Commercial.

I guess there is no band, or is there?

The only thing that I felt was missing was some footage of the band to cover some of the solo singing shots.

Good job. I liked the time lapse stuff, especially the opening shot. It was good that it had lots of locations. The only thing I would have liked to has seen was more moving camera, like dollys and jib/crane moves. I know this probably has a limited budget.

Now some technical questions:
What film stock?
Was it transfered on your workprinter?
Was there a polarizer used on the wide shots of the couple in the field? (The dark blue sky looked great.)

Ooops, ignore question 3. I see you answered that you did the transfer on your workprinter.

<font size="2" face="verdana, sans-serif">The budget was totally limited, only cost of stock and digital transfer, so something between 150-200 USD.

1. Film stock: K40 (all)
2. Workprinter transfer: yes
3. About polarizer filter, I'm not sure, have to ask that from Valtteri himself. I think that why dark blue sky looks like it looks at that video is cause of shooting location. Here in the North sky allways looks like that in the summertime also without any filter.

Hello!

Let's see if I can use this forum.

The video had a realy limited budget, but actually we had a crane on rails in the syncpictures. The usage of it was minimal because of the vocalist wish of closeups.(Not what we had planned.)

The band is not working on "regular basis" but it has two basic set ups. A smaller one and a larger one. There are two main caracters who are in charge of it and that would be the vocalist and lead guitarist. The band is called "Pappas eget band"

No polarisationfilter was used even if the sky looks realy dark blue. The only filter we used was a sky ligth and that should hardly show.

I agree totally to the thing you mentioned about the bandpictures.Theres a long and sad story behind it. A short version would be that the band said to uss that they don't feel for it right now when we was supposed to take the shots. And this was a friday night after we had driven a quite long way to a nice beach whit a sunset and nice set of lights and a generator with us. Believe me, I was realy mad by then. The band thought that we had enough pictures by then, but when we started editing they also started to miss them.

(Sh)It happens

Best regards, Valtteri

Could you take a 30 second part of the song and film it as it a Pepsi or 7-up commercial?

Just a hunch.

Sorry for that.
