As I've said before I'm new to film, but familiar with video. I hear people talking about transfering their film to video to edit it. My question is How is this done??
Also....after I shoot a roll of film how do I send it out to get developed? How much does it cost to develope 1 roll? Is each film different? Can I bring it to my local drug store and have them send the film out like pictures?
I know some of these questions are VERY basic.....but I don't know the answers!
Let me know,

You can trasfer your film to video by using a method called Telecine! I haven't tried it, but someone else can definitly tell you about it.
If you shoot on Kodachrome40 film, the development is included in the price. You will get a yellow bag with your film which has shipping included.
Other film stocks has an extra cost for development, but i think you shoud try to get a good camera and a nice light setup, so you can use only K40 (inexpencive!)
I don't think they can.. And if they could, you would probably have to use the Negative S8 film stock.
Hope that helped you a bit! Good luck with tha movie mahn!

In order to get Kodak film with FREE processing, you must call Kodak and order the super 8 K-40 over the phone...the catalog number to ask for is: 505 3335, cost is about 13.31 per roll...if you buy the film over the net or from a camera store, you will not get the processing included, so be sure to call Kodak at 1-888-368-6600. As an alternative to Kodak, you can check your local Walmart photo center...some of the Walmarts outsource super 8 kodachrome 40 to a lab called Dwayne's in Kansas...but since you can get the developing for free from Kodak, I would recommend that route. For transfer to video, take a look at this site, many forum members have reported good results from this process: moviestuff transfersCost is about 20.00 per roll, but a lot cheaper than a totally digital transfer, and the quality (from what I've heard) is superior to telecine...I've haven't used them yet, but they have gotten many favorable reviews, and the owner seems sincere and passionate about giving you the absolute best transfer from your super 8 film. Mikey,
I called Kodak and he looked up 505 3335. He said that catalog number does not exist. He read off a few promotions but none encluded processing. Any ideas?
