...and I've gotten some of my best buys because people "hide" stuff like this in the wrong category. I sure hope whoever gets it isn't really expecting a camcorder, it could mean yet another super 8 camera on it's way to the dump instead of keeping up the demand for film.
It's funny the way a modern technology warps people's perceptions and terminology, kind of like as if it has always existed. A couple of weeks ago I saw some "Silent Super-8 Films with Closed Captions" on E-bay. I was puzzled for a moment until I realized they meant "subtitled".
(This isn't the first Super-8 "camcorder", with a "tape" in it I've seen either)

I saw one where the seller said that he put batteries in and could here the camera recording but that he couldn't figure out how to hook it up to the tv to see how it looked.

Turnabout is fair play...
This may be a sign I'm starting to run out of ideas, but I intend to make a film about filmmaking. (title: Persistence of Vision)For a little comedy I'm going to borrow a camcorder and film myself holding it and cartridge of Super-8, trying to insert the cartridge in the camcorder, and concluding that these things will just never catch on....
When I start making films about making films about filmmaking, then I guess I'll stop and find another hobby.
