    Question

    Hello,
A couple of friends and I bought a VW bus. We are planning on going to portugal or france to surf. I want to film this trip on 8mm, can someone advise me what kind of 8mm I need to buy. I don't know how it works and stuff, but I really like the "old" filter over the movie. I want one with colours. (sorry for my strange english, but I am dutch).
    THANKS A LOT, Emiel Driesten

The filter in front of the camera comment made me think you wanted an 8mm camera. I am going to assume that you want an 8mm video camera rather than an 8mm film camera because you call it video in your topic title and you probably want to shoot a lot of shots rather than precise moments in time when you are surfing.

The most basic piece of advice I would recommend is you buy a new 8mm video camera rather than a used 8mm video camera, and you may want to consider digital 8 instead of 8mm or High-8mm video.

I'd also look into getting a Super-8 camera. Especially one that does slow motion and has a nice telephoto lens on it.
