What type of Film are you making?
If its a documentry, then all you need is detailed treatment, including what shots are needed, and any dialogue.
If you are amking a drama then it is probably best that you use the industry standard format for your script. It is easy and simple to follow. The best way to find out about the format is to read a script. Either go to a bookshop or libary and look in the film or movies section. Alternatively visit script-o-rama.com and read some of the scripts in there extensive archives. If you want to learn how to structure a script then invest in some good books on the subject. I surgest Screenplay by Syd Field, and Teach Yourself Screenwriting, the second one is more a by the mumbers thing but is pretty comprehensive. Also visit exposure.co.uk and look at there idiots guide to film making, it is fun and very useful.
I hope this info is useful.
    Good luck with your course.

Another good book is "Story" by Robert Mckee.
Lock yourself away for a couple of days and read it.
