I need to find a projector. Does anyone know where I can find information in order to make an informed decision about which one to find and choose?
Requirements:
1. Construction/Reliability. (Belt vs Chain?)
2. Functionality (what does it do?)
3. Beauty. Do any super8 projectors actually look nice like the standard 8's used to?
For example, I have seen 2 projectors for sale recently - a Copal Sekonic (Japanese) which claims to be very well made and a Noris which looked kind of nice but is it any good?

Hello,
The Eumig projectors that I've used seem to be quite rugged & reliable. I have a Eumig Mark 8 that I got years ago for about 20 pounds from a camera shop in blackpool (called Burrils I think) & I recently got hold of a Eumig 610D projector which I really like. I bought this from this Austrian bloke called Stephan Binder who run's the www.super8film.at site - the sites worth a look just for the pictures of some really lovely looking old cine gear. The 610D cost 70 euros (by paypal) from Stephan - i saw the same projector go for 200 euros from a german seller on ebay last week! Stephans site is in german so you might want to use a translator like www.freetranslation.com to get a better idea of what you are looking at. good luck,
Alan.
