    Hello Everyone,

This is my first post because I'm a complete newbie to Super-8 Filmmaking and filmmaking in general. I am looking to purchase a camera and was wondering where I could purchase them. I have looked on eBay but I'm skeptical about buying a used one. I know there are two cameras still produced... are they worth getting? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I live in Phoenix, AZ so if someone could direct me to a local store I could buy one at, that would be fantastic.

    Thanks!

Forget the new cameras. One of them is out of your league ($Ks), and the other is a wind up (literaly)

Go eBay - buy a Canon - they are the best built, most reliable cameras, and most still mork beautifully. For a complete newby, I recommend the Canon 518 SV auto zoom - pay about $120. Great camera. Good luck, and welcome to the world of Super8.

Well done - it's a strong and reliable camera which will produce good images. It has a nice slow motion, 18 and 24fps, a good lightmeter, manual over-ride.
