What is the difference between an 85 filter
and an 85B filter? I have a roll of super-8
Vision 200T neg. film. On the box it says to
use an 85 filter. Can I use it in a consumer super-8 camera with a built-in filter?

the 85b filter (built in) is for kodachrome. i think all other stocks require one without the b. one is a little more orange than the other, but i haven't noticed any real difference...

I would doubel check your facts. The built in filter is an A--This is because K40 is an A rated film. That is why it says "Type A" below the 40 on the box. The 7240 is a B film. This why it looks blue when you shoot it with an 85A filter. The B goes to 3200K while the 85A goes to 3400K.
Good Luck
