Hi everybody!
There is something new about double system sound! Last weekend I was in a workshop about synchron soundtrack from CD, hooked to a film projector. It works very fine, is easy to use and the result is incredible. Well, it was a Beaulieu HTI projector which costs about $10.000 and the images weren?t much bader than the 16mm screening afterwards. High quality CD sound together and in lip sync with high quality film screening is very impressive. You only first start the SynCD-player and the initialisation track (20 sec) plays (sounds like dialing a telefone number), telling the CD-player the framerate and swithching it to sync mode. Then the player stops automatically before track 2 (the soundtrack) starts. You start the projector with the leader positioned to start marking and the CD player starts again by remote, running always striktly in sync with the film...

It works with any projector of any gauge. The only requirement is, that the projector must have a reed contact which outputs 1 pulse per frame.
