For all of the wannabe DP's like myself. I suggest getting a good lighting kit together. They seem expensive at first but over two years you can get quite a bit of stuff for less than you think. Get some C-Stands, build some dimmers and watch for lights like Totas and DPs. Then never leave home without a selection of your standard lightbulbs in every wattage you can get. Don't forget utility lights. Gels gels gels--Everything from NDs to ToughSpun.

You would be surprised as to what you can build up overtime that will allow you to light you low budget film for not that much money.

    Good Luck

Even new the shit isn't that expensive if you put it together bit by bit. Start with the stuff you can buy at the hardware store like dimmers, extension cords, utility lights, clothes pins, etc.

Then after you collect that over the course of a year you start with a C-stand for 75 bucks off eBay, a 750 watt openface new for 175--You get the idea. After a while you start to look like you could light something and have it turn out well.

Good Luck--Remember you can pay for it now or you can pay for it later but either way you are still going to pay.
