Yup, they are based out of Seattle. We run all of our 16mm neg. thru these guys and they have never done us wrong. As for super 8, I've gotten a few rolls of plus-x done there and they seem to be fine, I know that they do a lot of it. I'm thinking of trying a roll at Pac Labs in NY to see how they do. I just keep hearing good things about them and it looks like they can prep and clean your film too, something that Forde doesn't offer for Super 8. Anyone else have anything to say about Pac Labs?

I don't know about Fordelab. Sorry.

As for Pac Lab, I use to use them before I discovered FilmLab in Allentown (an hour north of me.) I never had a problem with Pac Lab though I remember somebody complaining that they really cropped his film when they telecined it. I never had Pac Lab transfer any of my films to video so I would not know. However, I never had a problem with the films they processed for me.

I didn't know they cleaned films. I thought all labs had discontinued that practice. If that's true, my films are being cleaned twice!

A good friend of mine uses them. He has had mixed results. I think that they do a solid and fair job.

PAC Labs is great support them.

    Good Luck

Forde Labs does good work. Excellent Ektachrome support. Check out hteir web pages. But they don't do S8 transfers. I don't think anybody in Seattle does good S8 transfers any more.

Just to let everyone know out there, Jeff Tillutson and Eric Rosen, owners of Flying Spot Film Transfer in Seattle are in the process of buying a super 8 gate for their telecine. I spoke with Eric last week and they should be up and running by mid-feb. The pricing structure is still being worked out but it looks like they will have a one-light rate to keep the costs down and a scene to scene rate that will be more. We have run literally thousands of feet of 16mm neg. with these guys and I can't say enough about their abilities. Just really, really good work. Check them out at www.flyingspot.com
