    any suggestions on very low, low budget lighting for Super8?

    Hi There

    Ive shot a few scenes using one single 500Watt Halogen lamp - this was very cheap - less than 10UK pounds, and it looked fine.
    It would be better to use more than one though. For even lighting you could get 3 of these lamps (with stands) for around 20 quid (car boot sales).

    I would suggest using gels with them the naked lights can be a bit cruel to your actors and bring out every facial nook and cranny - but they get extremely hot, so gels may not last too long.

    I will be shooting a complex outdoor scene with a bunch of these shortly using a portable generator. Hopefully it will go fine.

    I picked up some versatile outdoor work lamps from b&q for ?12 each. They have their own mini tripod legs, and a clamp adaptor so you can attach them to anything.
